Business owner has Rolladens installed after break-in

Rolling Shutters
Local businessman Tom Jones called on Rolladen Rolling Shutters at his business following a break-in at his business situated in the southwest valley.

Businesses all over Southern Nevada have been getting ransacked by burglars recently, but long-time Southern Nevadan Tom Jones of Jones Media does not have to worry anymore. He had nine shutters installed over 520 square feet of windows and doors following two break-ins about two years ago.

After the first break-in, Jones mounted plywood on the building until the windows could be replaced and burglars returned by breaking through the temporary coverings.

"You feel so violated when someone breaks into your business," said Jones. "We're very lucky that more wasn't stolen. We feel very secure with the shutters. We can shut these down and nobody can get in anymore. The shutters are also very good for the heat or cold.

"I could have put iron bars on the building, but that would have made it look like a jail. I really like the looks of the shutters. When we close the shutters at the end of the day, we know everything is going to be the same when we come back. This is like our second home. It's our life, where we generate our income."

The rolling shutters were also installed on a large east-face window of the business. The key there is the fact that the shutters keep the glare out of the office.

Jones said Rolladen treated him and his wife, Tina, very well.

"They were very quick," he said. "The service was excellent. They did exactly what they said they would do. It's so nice to deal with a company that lives by its word."

With the increased amount of break-ins of businesses throughout the valley, the Joneses have a peace of mind knowing that they can now leave their business and not worry,

“We haven’t had one bit of problem with them,” he said. “We feel protected now and don’t have to worry anymore.”

In fact, Jones is now thinking about having the shutters installed on the family getaway.

“I am going to do it for sure,” he said. “I just need to get the measurements.”

Rolladen Rolling Shutters vice president Bianca Minnozzi said small businesses throughout the Las Vegas Valley have been calling for rolling shutters as crime continues to skyrocket in Southern Nevada. Burglars have especially been hitting doctors’ offices throughout the valley in the past several weeks.

The shutters are roll-filled aluminum slats used to cover doors and windows on both residences and businesses. Industry sources say the shutters not only eliminate break-ins, but also lower power consumption as much as 64 percent. There has never been a recorded break-in of a residence or business equipped with Rolladen Rolling Shutters.

Rolladen Rolling Shutters was formed about 20 years ago by Fran Minnozzi, who discovered the product while working as an airline stewardess. The company has two offices at 6168 W. Charleston Blvd., just west of Jones; along with a newly-opened location at 4405 Wagon Trail Ave., near Arville and Sunset roads in the southwest valley.

The showrooms are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Further information may be obtained by calling 878-1072 or by visiting www.rolladenlv.com.
