Physician purchases shutters from Rolladen; then helps company vice president after accident

Rolling Shutters
Rolladen Rolling Shutters vice president Bianca Minnozzi sold Dr. Gary La Tourette shutters for his medical complex. She later had to call on Dr. La Tourette after suffering a broken left arm while riding an all-terrain vehicle in Mexico.

Local physician Dr. Gary La Tourette had Rolladen Rolling Shutters installed on eight windows at his office after burglars had broken into the building four times.

Two weeks later, Rolladen Rolling Shutters vice president Bianca Minnozzi was calling on La Tourette to help mend a broken left wrist and left arm suffered while riding an all-terrain vehicle in Mexico.

Both are now protected.

La Tourette first learned about the shutters in local advertising. After the fourth break-in, he called on the company to protect his practice.

“They even used bolt cutters the last time,” he said of the burglars. “But I don’t have to worry about that anymore.

“The Rolladens look good. I’ve told people about them and we’ve had people come by to look at them, too.”

La Tourette will also benefit from the fact that the rolling shutters will block the light coming into the south side of the building. The shutters lower power consumption as much as 64 percent, according to industry statistics released by the company.

“We kind of helped out each other,” Minnozzi said of meeting Dr. La Tourette. “I couldn’t find a doctor who could get me in for follow-up treatment, and he was good enough to accommodate my needs.”

First introduced in Europe more than 100 years ago, Rolladen Rolling Shutters are foam-filled aluminum slats used to cover windows and doors.

The shutters are available in a variety of colors. They can also be operated manually, electrically or by remote control.

Rolladen Rolling Shutters was opened locally more than 20 years ago by Fran Minnozzi, who discovered the product while working as a flight attendant in Europe. The business has grown to include residential and commercial business throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

Rolladen's showroom is situated at 6168 W. Charleston Blvd., just west of Jones. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and by appointment on Saturdays.
