Couple enjoys many benefits offered by Rolladen Rolling Shutters

Edna and Ramon Martinez are big believers of the many benefits provided by Rolladen Rolling Shutters.

Edna and Ramon Martinez have a home situated on a plateau in the Sun City Anthem area of the southeast valley. The front of the 3,100 square-foot single-story residence faces east, so the back half of the residence faces the winds and the sunlight exposure of the west.

The couple had Rolladen Rolling shutters installed over eight windows on the west side of the home which has an impressive view of the valley. Additionally, the couple added design to the shutters by including white, beige and brown slats with each curtain.

"I just liked the looks of a little design rather than one color," Mrs. Martinez said. "My daughter had Rolladens and I liked the idea that they are tight," she explained. "In the winter, we have full exposure for the sun to heat our home while also having protection from the sun during the summer." Mrs. Martinez said the couple is better able to control its environment with the shutters, which are operated by remote control. The shutters can be left open, fully closed or in the vented position. During the winter, the cold winds many times infiltrate a home and spur the need for added heat. With the Rolladens, Mr. and Mrs. Martinez are able to keep the heat within their home. The Martinezes were very happy with the service of Rolladen. "They were very responsive," Mrs. Martinez said. "I love my Rolladens," Mr. Martinez added. The couple has also recommended the shutters to others.

Rolladen Rolling Shutters are foam-filled slats used over doors and windows. They lower power consumption as much as 64 percent while also protecting against burglaries, dust, wind, heat and cold. Each home or business is measured by Rolladen personnel before the shutters are manufactured locally with parts from Europe. The company is currently offering free installation through Thursday, Jan. 31.
